The Next Chapter of the movie “Strangers” Puts Faces to Terrorism.

Once again in May, Lionsgate released a new version of The Strangers, which also served as a reboot and the first part of a trilogy produced simultaneously. Despite very negative reviews, it continued to make a lot of money ($47.8 million!) and now it’s time to see if The Strangers: Prey at Night can change things, or at least be another money maker for the studio.
This trilogy, directed by Renée Harlin, follows millennial couple Maya (Madeline Petch) and Ryan (Freddie Gutierrez), who find themselves holed up in an AirBnB cabin during their wilderness journey. From that moment onwards, things went very bad for the couple: masked psychopaths appeared to terrorize them, and ultimately stabbed Ryan to death. Maya barely survived the first film, and The Strangers: Prey at Night picks up right after that as she escapes from the hospital to try and get the town out of hell.
But actions speak louder than words. Not only do the people of Venus, Oregon seem as shallow as hell, but their seemingly kind rescuers may not be who they appeared to be when they first allowed her to ride in their truck. The trailer hints that the whole community could be involved in the strangers’ deal, and if that’s true, it means that there are multiple versions of the same killers ready to shoot Maya at any moment, which is terrifying considering she already survived an attack just hours ago.
Harlin has previously stated that the second and third parts of this The Strangers will each do something unique in telling Maya’s story. How bad could things get for her in the coming days? We will find out when The Strangers: Prey at Night hits theaters in 2025, followed by The Strangers 3 later on.
