The Complete Guide to All Endings of Silent Hill 2 (The Third and Final Installment)

Silent Hill games have always been known for having countless endings, all seen as valid endings without clear distinctions between what may constitute a good or bad ending, leaving much of that up to your personal interpretation.

This was especially true in Silent Hill 2 and the multiple endings you could achieve in the first playthrough. The game was always keen on throwing in some comedic endings your way, and fortunately, all these endings return in Silent Hill 2 Remake, along with some new additions from Bloober Team. Here is how to get them all.

It is important to note that the endings in Silent Hill 2 are tracked across your entire account and not just one save file. This means you can easily reload a previous save file to meet the conditions of another ending without having to replay the entire game.

UFO Ending

It might seem a bit strange mentioning that Silent Hill 2 ends with an unexpected ending, but that’s not the only thing. In fact, most Silent Hill games have unexpected endings, including the original game, so Silent Hill 2 was just continuing that tradition.

It is very easy to miss the game-ending that involves multiple steps, so follow the steps closely to not lose track. Make sure to wear headphones as a strange sound plays when you are near areas linked to unlocking this ending.

The first step is to find the Blue Gem, which is essential for progress towards the ending. It can be found north of Blue Jay’s in east South Vale, a little further north from where the broken key part is located. Simply break the window here to find it in a jewelry box.

Next, you need to head up to the roof of Pete’s Bowl-O-Rama in the southern section of east South Vale. Once you reach the roof, your controller should start vibrating and a strange sound will be heard briefly. At this point, you can take out the Blue Gem by examining it in your main items. The gem will start glowing, and a strange sound will be heard briefly. As long as it’s glowing, this area is complete.

The second location to visit is Rosewater Park. When passing through the gate to enter the boardwalk, the same vibrations and sound will start as before. Take out the Blue Gem and watch it glow to complete this location, then move on to the next location.

The third location is the Lakeview Hotel. It is hard to miss as the sound and vibration will start as soon as you step forward towards the map. Take out the Blue Gem again, and there is only one location left.

The final location to visit is Room 312 of the James Hotel. Once inside the room, your controller will vibrate and a familiar sound will be heard. By taking out the Blue Gem to scan it here, the ending will be activated automatically, and here get ready as you are about to experience a very strange ending.

In the original game version of this ending, protagonist of Silent Hill 1, Harry Mason, appears, which has been changed in the new version to feature PS2 version of James instead.

Bliss Ending

The requirements for the Bliss ending, one of the two new endings added in the remake, can be met very early, but they require more active participation from you to achieve. Here are the key steps.

When first entering Western South Vale, ignore Jack’s Inn and run to the northeastern edge of this area, past the Historical Society. In the base game, there will be a body here with a note. In the New Game Plus, the same body will be here but with a note with a code 1887 on it.

Head to Pete’s Bowl-O-Rama and enter the reception office to find a new locked safe. Enter the code 1887 to find inside it a rusty key and a mysterious note. This note points to the next location to head to, a place of care.
