Qualcomm and Google collaborate to develop intelligent voice assistants for cars

Qualcomm and Google have announced a new technology partnership aimed at enabling car manufacturers to develop dedicated smart voice assistants for their vehicles. This move is part of the collaboration between the two companies to deliver innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence, providing drivers and passengers with a more advanced and comfortable experience.
The new system relies on Google’s Android Automotive system, supported by Qualcomm’s popular Snapdragon platform, in addition to utilizing advanced Google Cloud services. Qualcomm has announced the launch of two advanced chips: the Snapdragon Cockpit Elite tailored for dashboards, and the Snapdragon Ride Elite supporting autonomous driving features.
These modern technologies offer an integrated experience for drivers including interactive voice assistant, smart maps, and instant driving updates, without the need to use or connect a smartphone, making it easier to access vital information while driving.
This development comes at a time when car companies are increasingly adopting artificial intelligence technologies. Volkswagen recently announced its intention to integrate ChatGPT into its voice assistant system, while Android Automotive is increasingly being adopted in cars from companies like Chevrolet, Honda, Volvo, and Rivian.
