Roadmap for Space Marine 2 Game and Future Updates

The road map for Space Marine 2 after its release indicates that new missions, enemies, and maps for PvP multiplayer will be added over several seasons in the coming year. This means that the Operations and Eternal War game modes will receive support and additional content. Players will soon be able to experience the first new operation with the launch of the second season of Space Marine 2, where the Astartes soldiers will return to the planet Kadaku to face a giant creature from the Tyranid Bio-Titan strain, and may don Dark Angels armor during the confrontation.
Contents of Space Marine 2 and its roadmap for the first year
Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment have provided details about the first year of post-launch updates and new content for Space Marine 2 through a new showcase video and a previous news post. The new content will be released through a somewhat simple seasonal system, but the most important thing is that you won’t have to pay any fees to access the new gameplay features, such as new missions, modes, and weapons, all of which are free for all players. The only paid items are cosmetic packs that come with the Season Pass, specifically for customizing game characters, and there is no similar Battle Pass system or paid rewards.
Launch of new features in seasons It appears that the new features mentioned in the roadmap will be released throughout the respective season, rather than all at once. Additionally, there are vague and unspecified points on the roadmap, such as when each season starts and ends, but we will try to explain and analyze as much as possible. It is worth noting that all these details are subject to change.
Updates and improvements alongside new content In addition to the new updates, Saber Interactive will be releasing updates and improvements to enhance gameplay quality and add fixes. In a Questions and Answers article published, the company outlined its current priorities, such as improving Artificial Intelligence (AI), adjusting the difficulty of story mode and operations, fixing matchmaking issues, and rebalancing PvP multiplayer. However, the company will not be adding features like Field of View (FOV) sliders or shoulder-swapping, or giving players immunity during gun strikes.
- Shoulder-swapping refers to the ability to change the camera angle in third-person shooter games, allowing players to switch between looking over the left or right shoulder of the character. This change helps players to better view the surrounding environment based on the situation, whether for more precise aiming from behind cover or to avoid obstruction in a certain direction.
Season 1 of Space Marine 2
The first season – which was a short introductory season primarily focusing on post-launch game fixes – saw the addition of Ultrawide screen support, the launch of PvE private rooms, and a training arena on the Battle Barge ship. Additionally, a major update was released that focused on adjusting the difficulty of the Veteran story mode, improving respawn locations in PvP multiplayer, and balancing enemies, especially Thousand Sons enemies. The season also featured the release of several cosmetic items with an Ultramarine theme through the Ultramarines Cosmetic Pack and Ultramarines Champion Pack.
Season 2 of Space Marine 2
The second season is on the horizon and will bring new free content to Space Marine 2. Starting in October and ending at the end of 2024, it will include the following free content for all players:
New PvE mission on the planet Kadaku: After the events of the story mode, the planet Kadaku has almost entirely fallen under the control of Tyranid creatures, with Cadian forces standing as the final defense against hordes of alien creatures.
Battle against Hierophant Bio-Titan: The mission will involve confronting the giant monster Hierophant using lascannon towers.
New difficulty level called Lethal: A new difficulty level, considered the hardest in the game, will be added and come with significant rewards in Requisition.
New weapon called Neo-Volkite Pistol: A new weapon that players can use, expected to be a short-range but very powerful pistol, like a mix between a Melta Rifle and Plasma Pistol.
Rewards for Season Pass holders in the second season
Players who own the Season Pass, whether through purchasing the Gold Edition or Ultimate Edition of Space Marine 2 or buying the pass separately, will receive the Dark Angels Champion Pack, a Cosmetic Pack, and a Weapon Skin Pack. These packs include unique colors, armors, and weapons for the Bulwark class representing the power of Dark Angels.
Season 3 of Space Marine 2
The third season will start at the beginning of 2025, without a clear end date, and during this season, players can expect the following free additions:
New PvE mission: Teasers shown in the video indicate an operation taking place on the planet Demerium.
New PvP multiplayer mode.
New PvP arenas: The word “arenas” implies multiple maps.
Prestige Ranks system in PvE: Allowing players to reset Operations class levels, granting them permanent buffs.
Expansion for Battle Barge: The exact nature of this expansion has not been clarified, but it may include new locations or other additions.
Rewards for Season Pass holders in the third season
Players who own the Season Pass will receive a Champion Pack, a Cosmetic Pack, and a Weapon Skin Pack for new Adeptus Astartes characters. These characters have not been revealed yet, but it appears that Raven Guard may be the next faction due to their emblem briefly appearing on the emblem screen in the showcase video.
Season 4 of Space Marine 2
The start date or end date for the fourth season has not been announced, but all players will receive the following free features:
Horde mode: Details of this mode have not been clarified, but it will involve battling waves of escalating enemies.
New enemy.
