PS5 version accounts for 78% of Silent Hill 2 sales in Europe

Sony has put a lot of effort into promoting the exclusive game Silent Hill 2 on PS5, and it seems that their efforts have paid off. According to GSD data, 78% of the European game sales were purchased on the PlayStation platform, with the remaining 22% purchased on PC.
These sales data include physical and digital sales, although they do not cover the entire continent, as sales in the UK, for example, are excluded. Nevertheless, it is a good indicator of the game’s direction.
There was a general feeling this year that games released only on PS5 performed poorly due to the lack of a PC option, as was the case with the recent Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. However, while the 22% figure should not be underestimated, it is clear that the majority of the Silent Hill 2 market is on PlayStation.
This may be due to high PC specifications requirements or historical platform ties, as Konami wanted to release the game exclusively on PS5 due to the series’ historical connection to the platform. However, developer Bloober Team convinced the Japanese publisher to work on a PC version.
Regardless, the game has had a great start overall, comfortably outselling both The Callisto Protocol and Alan Wake 2 in Europe, although it is slightly behind the Dead Space remake.
