Download your copy of the Debian Manager Notebook now

In our previous lesson, we learned about one of the oldest Linux distributions, as I mentioned in Now you will learn about the Debian GNU / Linux distribution. I tried to shed light on this distribution properly, and also touched on how to download the distribution at the end of the article. Today, as a continuation of the previous topic, I will introduce you to the best and newest book to learn how to manage this distribution. This will give you a strong start in learning Linux system administration. Debian is a giant distribution, with almost half of the distributions based on it. Learning to deal with it will give you a strong boost to master working with this system. I have also presented another book on this topic in the past in the article “Master Linux System with Linux Command Line”, and this book is one of the most important references that discusses the Debian distribution. The authors are two of the leading contributors to the Debian project. It is a comprehensive reference that starts with an introduction to the Debian project and its goals, and continues into the deepest details of the distribution and setting up various system services.

Introduction to the Book and Download:

Reminder: Debian is one of the most important Linux distributions in the world today. It is worth mentioning that about half of the active Linux distributions are based on it, and it is the operating system used in the International Space Station! The Debian project is one of the leading projects that stands out with a unique composition different from other free software projects, allowing it to evolve and make decisions followed by many other free projects. It serves as a reference for them. We understood this and more in our previous topic and I emphasize the importance of learning to manage this distribution, as it is a recommended choice if you want to master Linux system administration.

As for the book, the Debian Manager’s Notebook, consisting of 500 pages, contains advanced topics that benefit the System Administrator to be able to manage the Debian system efficiently. It starts with the introduction to the project and the principles on which it is built, and the system roles distribution, then discusses the method of installing Debian system or transitioning to it from another operating system in detail. It then begins to explain how to set up various services and applications – both simple and advanced – that are useful when using Debian on servers or personal computers.

As for the download, it is of course free, like all the books I strive to present to you. This book is also under a Creative Commons license, giving you the freedom to copy, distribute, and broadcast the work and also to modify it with the following conditions:
Attribution – You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.
Share Alike – If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.
