Apple unveils new iPad Mini with A17 Pro processor

Apple has announced the launch of the latest version of the iPad mini, equipped with the A17 Pro processor, making it compatible with the artificial intelligence technologies developed by the company under the name Apple Intelligence. This significant upgrade to the iPad mini comes after a year-long absence since 2021, providing major improvements in performance and technical capabilities.

The new iPad mini features an 8.3-inch screen, and is one of the devices that benefits from the artificial intelligence features offered by Apple. The A17 Pro processor has a hexa-core processing unit, including two cores dedicated to high performance and four cores for energy efficiency, significantly enhancing the device’s speed and efficiency compared to previous versions.

One of the key additions in this version is the enhancements integrated into the iPadOS 18 system, which include new artificial intelligence tools such as text generation and summarization, enhanced performance of the voice assistant Siri, and call recording and summarization. The device also includes a five-core GPU that provides improved performance by about 30% compared to the A16 Bionic processor used in previous versions.

While some Apple Intelligence features are still under development, such as generating images and graphics through the “Image Playground” feature and integrating ChatGPT, the current updates allow users to experience a new interaction with artificial intelligence within the operating system.

The new iPad mini supports the Apple Pencil, providing a seamless experience for users who rely on handwriting or drawing, and includes an updated 12-megapixel rear camera with support for Smart HDR 4 technology, offering balanced lighting and better clarity in photography.

The starting price for the new iPad mini with 128GB of storage is $500, with a cellular connectivity model available for $650. The device is available for pre-order now and is expected to hit the markets later in October.
