One of the best features is the continuous support from the company for this app through fantastic updates to make it stronger and add even more amazing features with each update. Today, we will discuss a feature that Facebook introduced not too long ago to the Messenger app to make it stronger and better. While only a few are aware of it so far, it is a fantastic feature. Here are all the details you need about this feature and how to use it easily.
The feature we will talk about today is the “bots” feature in Facebook Messenger. If you are not familiar with what a bot is, it is a program that performs a specific task. For example, you can set up a bot to interact with customers at a pizza shop so they can order pizza directly through Facebook Messenger by speaking with this bot, who will gather their order details.
It’s worth mentioning that less than six months after launching this feature, there are now around 15,000 bots available on Facebook Messenger. These bots offer various services from pizza delivery and choosing phone backgrounds to following the news and other unique services. Here is how you can easily use these bots on Facebook Messenger by following the simple steps:
1- Start by simply opening the Facebook Messenger app.
2- In the search bar at the top of the screen, type the name of the bot you want, for example, “Tech,” to get a list of names under “Bots and Businesses” as shown in the following image:
3- Now, you can choose the bot you want, such as TechCrunch. When you enter it, you will get the bot’s options, which vary from one bot to another as shown in the image below:
4- When you press “Get Started,” the bot will start interacting with you, informing you about what it can do and how to go about it as shown in the following image:
5- The bot displays a range of news stories it offers, and you can “Show Stories” to read the stories you are interested in. This bot is specific to the famous TechCrunch site as shown in the following image:
6- Upon exiting the bot, you will notice that it is now in your conversation list for easy access as shown in the following image:
This feature is fantastic and allows you to benefit from a variety of features offered by different bots in this app, as we discussed earlier, they can help with everything from pizza delivery to answering questions and much more.
In conclusion, this feature is not new and has been available in some other applications before, but in Facebook Messenger, it has truly revolutionized with a vast number of different bots from all over the world offering various services.
