YouTube announces new features
YouTube has announced the launch of a series of new updates aimed at improving the user experience across various devices, including smartphones and televisions. These updates are designed to meet users’ needs by adding more than twenty new features and modifications.
These notable updates include improvements in playback speed, allowing users to now adjust the video speed with precision up to 0.05, as well as enhancing the horizontal viewing experience on mobile phones. Thumbnail images and some visual aspects have also been updated to make browsing smoother.
One of the most exciting features is the addition of the “mini player” on the YouTube app for phones, which allows users to browse the platform while watching another video. Users can control the size of this player and move it freely on the screen, enhancing navigation between contents.
In a move to increase interaction among users, they can now invite friends to join playlists through a special link or QR code, a feature that will soon be available on televisions as well. Users can create thumbnail images for playlists using artificial intelligence, with the ability to customize them by adding texts, filters, or stickers.
Among the new interactive features, friends in playlists can vote for their favorite videos, giving creators the opportunity to evaluate their content based on viewer interaction. This feature will be released later this year.
YouTube also introduces badges for users’ favorite creators based on their activity and interaction with the content. This is in addition to the “bedtime reminder” feature that allows videos to automatically stop after a specified time, a feature that was previously exclusive to YouTube Premium subscribers and will soon be available to everyone.
