Yes, Godzilla Minus One Returns to Theaters

Godzilla Singular Point was one of the biggest surprises of 2023, and one of the best surprises of the year in general. It has already made its way to streaming and physical formats, but if you want to see it in theaters again, Toho is more than happy to oblige.

The Oscar-winning film will be back in theaters starting from November 1st, in both regular format and black and white (also known as “Minus Color”). To sweeten the deal, this new version of Singular Point will include 13 extra minutes of exclusive behind-the-scenes material. All in service of Godzilla Day, which falls on November 3rd, celebrating the seventy-year anniversary of the original theatrical release of the film in 1954 in Japan. How long will it last? Toho didn’t say, so it might be best to get a showing while the opportunity presents itself.

Behind Singular Point, 2024 has been a big year for Godzilla. The American-made MonsterVerse version of the character returned (whose film was in its tenth year this year) in Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire, which was a big success for WB and Legendary, and will have a follow-up in the near future. The Sovereign, a very good TV series set in the same universe, has been greenlit for a second season (and possibly other spin-offs to join it), while the giant lizard also scored a guest spot in the highly acclaimed downloadable content (DLC) for the game Deep Diver.

So, if you find yourself in need of more Godzilla in your life before the end of 2024 – and why wouldn’t you? – you can check out Godzilla Singular Point screening dates here. See a new re-release poster below.
