XDefiant Game: No plans to shut down after Season Four.
Rumors of the death of the XDefiant game have resurfaced in the past few hours with declining player numbers, but according to Executive Producer Mark Rubin, players have nothing to fear.
Despite recent reports claiming that XDefiant failed to impress Ubisoft and is set to close after its fourth season, Rubin took to Twitter to dispel these rumors, pointing out that the development team is currently focusing on improving the core technical experience of the game, and that planning is already underway for what comes after the fourth season.
According to Rubin, this also entails a more aggressive marketing approach in the future, as Ubisoft tries to attract new players and entice previous players to return, he continued:
To be crystal clear there are NO plans to shut down after season 4. I’ve literally been in meetings as of last week to discuss our Year 2 plans. But, right now we are super focused on improving the technical experience (which includes netcode) and adding more content for Seasons…
It is worth noting that the XDefiant game is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and is currently in its second season of post-launch content, which began last month.
