Will Killzone make a comeback? Guerrilla Studio has some bad news
Guerrilla Studio has seen great success with the adventure and action series Horizon, which takes place after the collapse of human civilization following the control of artificial intelligence and machines over everything, leading to the destruction of humanity.
The Horizon games have been one of the most successful titles compared to any other series Guerrilla has worked on before. However, there is still a large group of fans of Guerrilla’s shooting game series Killzone who are eager for the studio to return to their forgotten series and give it a new lease on life. With the recent trend of remaking games proving to be highly successful, fans of Killzone are hopeful for a revival of the series’ glory days.
Will Killzone return?
Their hopes and players’ aspirations were met with disappointment through recent comments from Guerrilla Studio’s art director, “Roy Postma,” who has been with the studio since 2000. In a recent interview with The Washington Post, Roy Postma mentioned that the studio currently has no intention to return to the Killzone series, unfortunately.
He discussed this in an interview with The Washington Post, mentioning that Guerrilla was “done” with the series when they decided to start developing the first game in the Horizon Zero Dawn series.
The game was intentionally designed to have a more vibrant and visually impressive open world, with an environment and story that could be expanded in the future. The studio wanted to offer a better experience than the dark and harsh world of Killzone.
If you are a fan of Horizon games, you have something to look forward to in the coming days. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is set to release on October 31, 2024, as showcased in the PlayStation State of Play livestream held on September 24th.
