Whatsapp prepares to launch a new feature for sharing music in status updates

WhatsApp is testing an innovative feature on Android that allows users to share music in their status updates, according to feature trackers. This feature is expected to enable users to search for specific music and select it by clicking on a new button that appears on the status update page.

WhatsApp is working on developing this feature for future releases of the app, as it has been spotted in beta version 2.24.22.11. Once released, users will be able to choose songs based on their preferences and share them as status updates.

The feature appears in the form of a music note as an option on the status update page. When clicked, a new user interface will allow users to search for songs or artists. Once a song is selected, the music will automatically merge into the status update.

Additionally, users can further customize their status updates by adding images or video clips. It is expected that this feature will work similarly to features available in other Meta apps like Instagram and Facebook, which also allow adding music to status updates.

WABetaInfo has mentioned that the new ability to share music in status updates on WhatsApp for Android is still under development and is not available to beta testers registered in the Google Play Beta program. A similar function is also expected to be developed for the WhatsApp app on iOS.

Although the instant messaging platform is working on many new features for different platforms, it should be noted that not all of these features make it to the public version of the app.
