WhatsApp adds a new feature for easily re-watching status updates.
WhatsApp is adding a new feature to enhance user experience, similar to other apps like Facebook and Instagram. The new feature allows users to revisit status updates they have previously viewed directly from the Chats tab.
WhatsApp announced that this new feature has appeared in the latest beta updates for both Android and iOS systems. This step is part of improving the user experience, where users can now easily access previous statuses that have been viewed from the Chats tab without the need to navigate between sections.
The new feature is based on a previous function, the colored loop that appears around a contact’s profile picture when they post a new status update. Once the status is viewed, this loop turns gray, making it easier for the user to return to it and view it again from the same conversation location.
In previous versions of WhatsApp, the loop surrounding the profile picture would disappear after viewing the status update, making it more difficult to revisit the updates as the user had to go back to the status section again. However, with this new update, the indicator will remain visible even after viewing the update, simplifying the process of returning to previous statuses.
Currently, this feature is available to beta testers using the latest WhatsApp beta versions for both iOS and Android. It is expected to be rolled out to all users in the coming days.
