Undisputed Boxing Game Sales Surpass One Million Copies

Boxing games have been rare over the past decade, so indie game developer Steel City Interactive caused quite a stir with its promise to deliver an original, ambitious, and licensed simulation game called Undisputed. Due to the absence of games in this category for years, the new game managed to achieve impressive sales immediately upon its final release.

As reported by GamesIndustry, Undisputed has now sold over a million units worldwide across all platforms, with the full game being released earlier this month after being in early access on Steam for over a year and a half. Ash Habib, the CEO of Steel City Interactive, revealed that the game exceeded the internal sales expectations set by Deep Silver, stating:

“There hasn’t been a boxing game in 12 to 13 years, the way we did it with early access and building our community, the numbers that we have seen… I was hoping for a really good launch, and practically, to sell a million copies, I know it’s an unbelievable accomplishment for a first title by an indie studio. We have surpassed the expectations that the publisher had put.”

Undisputed features a roster of over 70 licensed fighters across 10 different weight classes, including current stars like Canelo Alvarez and Oleksandr Usyk, as well as legends like Muhammad Ali and Joe Louis.

The game also boasts a career mode to elevate your custom fighter from a nobody to a world champion, as well as local and online multiplayer features.
