Trick to Unlock Samsung Galaxy S10 Screen Using Face Recognition

An exploit has been discovered that allows bypassing the screen lock system by facial recognition on the Samsung Galaxy S10, the latest smartphone from the South Korean company, with the help of a video of the device owner.

This was confirmed by YouTuber Lewis Hilsenteger using two devices: one set up to unlock with his face, and the other playing a video showing him. He repeatedly managed to unlock the Samsung Galaxy S10 by bringing the screens close to each other.

Other internet users have also testified to the ease of bypassing the facial recognition system on the Galaxy S10, including security expert Jane Manchun Wong, who claims to have unlocked her brother’s phone with her face.

Despite continued reports of such exploits on social networks, Samsung has warned users that this method is “less secure than other screen lock types.” Other companies claim that this feature is more secure on their devices, as is the case with the iPhone X, where Apple’s “Face ID” technology can differentiate between a human face and masks thanks to its artificial intelligence.
