The TV show Rick and Morty renewed for the twelfth season.
Adult Swim has not announced the exact release date for Rick and Morty season 8 yet, but in today’s New York Comic Con session for the highly beloved animated sci-fi series, there are still some exciting news for the fans: season 10 will not be the end of the show. Season 11 and 12, dear! Let’s go!
Speaking from the stage at the conference, co-creator Dan Harmon promised that this means the show will continue until at least 2029, despite the entire panel (including the cast) echoing Rick’s oft-quoted line that they hope to keep it going “for 100 years.” We know that season 8 will come sometime in 2025, and Adult Swim has shared a first thrilling look in the form of this animation. As you’ll see, Rick and Morty (voiced by Justin Roiland and Chris Parnell) come across a cool spaceship in deep space… and that soon leads to curiosity, greed (specifically Rick’s greed), and chaotic mayhem. Geez!
The rest of the main cast includes Chris Parnell as Jerry, Sarah Chalke as Beth, and Spencer Grammer as Summer.
In a statement quoted by the deadline, Harmon and fellow executive producer Scott Marder shared their excitement for more Rick and Morty to come.
“Nobody wants a universe without Rick and Morty. Luckily, the list of places we have to go is still unlimited.” Harmon said. Marder added, echoing comments made on the NYCC stage: “I can’t be more proud that I got this badge for my entire life through Rick and Morty season 4, getting us to season 10. Going beyond that now is a gift that I can’t wait to give to our fans. Rick and Morty – a hundred years – forever!
