The team behind the winner of the Game of the Year takes two announced that a new game is in the works in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.
According to Electronic Arts, which will publish the game under the EA Originals label, it is a completely new IP that takes the form of “a fully cooperative epic adventure.” This aligns it with Hazelight’s previous games: takes two and director, which were playable only in the cooperative mode between two players.
The director of Hazelight Studios, Josef Fares, posted on X stating that the team is creating “a completely new IP called S*** ******N.” The studio’s official account then posted a picture of a stack of papers with the words “New IP” on the front. There is no title or release window yet (except that it will be released before 2030), but it will be published by EA Originals, which also worked on takes two.
There are some mysterious figures and shapes in the image, so there may be more than just basic information. I’m sure online sleuths will uncover it.

Hazelight Studios was supposed to follow up the adventure game for 2021 takes two which won several Game of the Year awards, surpassing titles like Resident Evil Village, The Last of Us 2, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (2021 was a particularly strong year for games). The game follows parents Cody and May, who turn into dolls while contemplating divorce. They must escape a series of miniature magical worlds to return to their daughter. takes two features stunning level design, introducing new mechanics in almost every section. All puzzles and obstacles require cooperative play on a split screen to complete, so there is no single-player option.
Hazelight also announced this week that takes two has sold 20 million copies since its launch. It has also been selected for a film adaptation.
