The optional update for Windows 10 operating system fixes printer, scanner, and malfunction issues.
Microsoft released update KB5045594 for Windows 10 yesterday. This update is optional and you should manually install it if you want to benefit from it. If you are experiencing issues on your computer(s) running Windows 10, we recommend installing it.
Why? Some Windows 10 users have been complaining about printer problems related to USB cables. For some users, unwanted network command text is printed when using a USB connection. For others, scanner driver installations via USB fail. This update aims to fix those USB-related issues.
Update KB5045594 also introduces a new account manager in the Start menu on Windows 10. Microsoft wrote: “This update introduces the new account manager in the Start menu. The new design makes it easier to view your account and access account settings. To switch to another user, select the delete marks (…) next to sign out. Lock is now available in the power menu. Note: This change may not be available to all users as it will be rolled out gradually.
There are also other bug fixes in this update, including resolving the issue that caused a blue screen crash with error code 0x3B when upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
How to Install Update KB5045594
Go to Windows Settings under Update. There, search for KB5045594

Microsoft may make the final version of KB5045594 available for automatic download on Patch Tuesday in November 2024. You will no longer need to manually install this update after that, but it will be automatically installed on your Windows 10 computer.
