The launch of GITEX 2024 activities in Dubai
The activities of GITEX 2024 exhibition have started on Monday, which will continue from October 14th to 18th at the Dubai World Trade Center.
The “GITEX Global 2024” edition, held under the theme “Global Collaboration to Shape the AI-based Future Economy”, highlights artificial intelligence as the forefront of the exhibition with more than 3,500 companies showcasing their latest innovations in this field, as well as in Internet of Things, data, and cloud computing, according to a statement released by the Emirates News Agency “WAM“.
The “GITEX Global” is being held in conjunction with “Xpand North Star”, the world’s largest exhibition for startups and investment companies, which started on Sunday and will continue until October 16th. The two exhibitions feature more than 6,500 exhibiting companies, 1,800 startups, and 1,200 investors from over 180 countries, spread across 38 innovation halls and business opportunities.
“GITEX Global” witnesses the largest international presence in its history, welcoming over 400 governmental entities and digital development agencies from around the world. It also sees the largest European participation with over 35 European countries, 1000 small and medium-sized companies, and more than 450 startups from participating countries for the first time, including Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Serbia, and Slovenia, in addition to countries in Latin America, Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Several new countries have also joined the list of participants in the “GITEX Global 2024” exhibition, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Tracy Loth Mermand, Deputy CEO of the Dubai World Trade Center, emphasized the importance of GITEX for the technology community in enhancing global cooperation towards shaping competitive advantages in the digital race regionally and globally, noting a 40% increase in international participation in the exhibition.
Amr Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial Affairs at TECOM Group and Executive Director of Dubai Internet City, stated that GITEX exhibition is a starting point for huge technological potentials. He added that “Dubai Internet City” has been a key partner of this global exhibition for decades, connecting innovators to over 3,500 companies in the fields of artificial intelligence, web 3, and digital transformation.
According to “Fortune Business” research, the global artificial intelligence market is expected to reach $621 billion in 2024 and rise to $2.7 trillion by 2032.
Leading companies and institutions in Abu Dhabi, including the Advanced Technology Research Council and G42 Group with its leading entities “BrideSite” and “Khidmah”, reinforce the emirate’s position as a global hub for artificial intelligence.
“GITEX Global” offers more than 120 hours of in-depth content in the field of artificial intelligence and technology, and also hosts the largest data center summit in the region in 2024.
The summit program works to build anticipation and excitement for the “AI Everything Global 2025” conference, which will take place in Abu Dhabi on February 4, 2025, and in Dubai on the 5th and 6th of the same month, bringing together some of the world’s top artificial intelligence technology companies to build an innovative, fair, and responsible artificial intelligence industry for the future.
For the first time this year, the exhibition welcomes the European Innovation Council, the largest deep technology investor in Europe, as well as collaborations with global institutions from all continents, such as (Tech Destination Pakistan), IE University, University College London (UCL), Johns Hopkins University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
During its six-day duration, “GITEX Global 2024” will become a miniature model of the world, launching programs that redefine the technology industry, such as (GITEX Editions), an exclusive platform for advanced technology companies in their final stages, and a prime center for unicorns, or “Unicorn Companies”.
This platform in 2024 connects 59 of the world’s top unicorn companies.
The “Global Future Digital Economy Leaders Summit”, which brings together global innovators and influential leaders to address critical priorities that shape the future of technology, also includes this year’s edition of the “GITEX Cyber Valley Exhibition”, hosted by the UAE Cyber Security Council.
