After the release of the Silent Hill 2 remake, the Bloober Team revealed their next title yesterday titled Cronos The New Dawn, a third-person perspective horror and survival game. The first teaser focuses on a character wearing armor fighting monsters.
The official description mentions time travel, and thanks to Xbox Wire blog, we have more details. Cronos is marketed as a “new direction” for the studio, set between two time periods, communist Poland in the 1980s and a post-pandemic wasteland in the future altered by The Change.
According to Steam, players control the Traveler for the Collective, exploring to find rifts to return to the 1980s. The mission involves locating individuals from the past and extracting their essence to bring them to the future.
This may explain what happened to the old lady in the trailer, as we learn that enemies “were born from remnants of humanity” and players must make “quick decisions” in battle to survive.
Cronos: The New Dawn is set to release in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
