The Best Models for Each Character in Metaphor: ReFantazio

There are a total of 46 different original models and 14 ReFantazio borrowing lineages, making it difficult to determine the best for your party members. While each character that joins your party comes with its own original model, making them rise to the level of others can help add more skills to their arsenal.

Once you find a good original model, you can usually continue to upgrade it until it reaches the next model in line and proceed from there. However, knowing which party members should take which original models can be challenging when there is a lot to choose from. We will help you identify the best original models to focus on for each character in ReFantazio borrowing.

Best Original Models for the Hero

ReFantazio borrowing The hero should often stick to the original model of the Mage, as it is the main model that can guide the hero to become a party member focusing on magic. To assist with this, the Mage is the second best choice because it comes with useful elemental skills such as electrical, fire, and ice damage that are often not covered by other original models.

You will also find that upgrading the hero’s original Healer model is very useful in the early/mid stages of the game. The first dungeon contains many enemies weak to light damage, which the Healer can deal with, and it also comes with useful recovery skills.

In the game, the Seeker can become a Magic Seeker, then a Soul Hacker, while the Mage transforms into a Wizard, then an Elemental Master. From a fantastical perspective, the Healer can become a Priest, then a Savior. Their final original model could ultimately be the Prince.

Best Original Models for Strohl

  • Warrior
  • Bravery
  • Leader

It is almost always best for Strohl to stick with the Warrior and its lineage of original models, making them a party member focused on strength and also helping to bolster the party. You will also need to upgrade the original Leader model, who can inflict physical damage with fire damage, alongside the Heartbreak Strategem skill that cancels out any magical/physical abilities in Repel (useful in the Skyrunner Charadrius dungeon).

You should also include the Brawler in Strohl’s arsenal to unlock skills that cause melee damage, in addition to Battle Cry, a support skill that increases Strohl’s attack and defense for three turns. It also grants you the useful negative effect of Health Font for extra health points, which works well with the negative effect of Warrior’s Heat Up (+10% physical skill attack) to make Strohl a physical damage dealer.

In the final stage of the game, the Warrior can become a Sword Master, then a Samurai, and the Brawler can turn into a Boxer, then a Martial Artist, and the Leader can become a General, then a Warlord. Their final original model would be the Royal Warrior.

Best Original Models for Hulkenberg

Hulkenberg is a tank that deals physical damage, as well as using magic to some extent. Their main model will be the Knight, who can deal melee damage and draw enemy attention to themselves. Gunner is another great addition to their set because it grants them some decent piercing skills that can also inflict poison or sleep.

It is important for the Mage to reach a higher level at some point as it allows you to eventually unlock their best original model. It can also grant Hulkenberg any additional core skills they may need in your party alongside their own magical abilities.

The Knight can eventually become a Magic Knight, then a Dark Knight and Paladin, while the Gunner can turn into a Sniper, then a Dragoon, and the Mage can become a Sorcerer as a prerequisite for the original Dark Knight model.

Best Models for Heismay

Heismay is the most versatile and often the luckiest party member, and will usually stick with the original Thief model. This gives them the ability to deal dark damage to enemies, as well as steal items, health, or MP from them. The Merchant pairs well with this build as it can deal significant damage (at the cost of Reeve), but also has a negative ability that increases the chances of receiving items after battles.

It is also important for Heismay to upgrade the original Gunner model to eventually unlock their final model. This allows them to often sit in the back row to steal items and use piercing damage skills that can inflict poison or sleep on enemies.

The Thief will soon become an Assassin, then a Ninja, and the Merchant can become a Trader, and the Gunner a Sniper, then a Dragoon. The final original model for Heismay, the Royal Thief, requires unlocking both Ninja and Dragoon.

Best Models for Junah

  • Masked Dancer
  • Healer
  • Faker

It’s best to use Junah as a Masked Dancer and rarely switch her, but the other original models are good for inherited skills to add on top of the masks you choose for her. The Masked Dancer game is flexible, allowing you to quickly switch masks to reflect the other original models. Additionally, having Junah as your new primary healer is perfect for allowing your hero to use other skills instead.

The Faker is another important original model that Junah should upgrade. Not only because it will unlock her original model, but because it allows her to disrupt the enemy team. Keep her in the back row to repel enemies and primarily heal the group.

The Masked Dancer will eventually become a Master Dancer, and the Healer can become a Priest, then a Savior, and the Faker will become a Trickster. Ultimately, unlocking the Royal Masked Dancer requires having both Trickster and Persona Master at max level.

Best Original Models for Eupha

Eupha’s main summoner original model makes her a unique heavy magical damage dealer who uses a large amount of MP with a small number of abilities she possesses. For this reason, she should also have the original Mage model so she can have options for dealing with magical damage at a lower MP cost to maintain her effectiveness.

You will also need to upgrade the original Researcher model to unlock her final original model eventually. It also grants her some useful skills that can enhance (Tarukaja can increase attack) and heal (Dei provides weak health restoration) for the party along with some wind damage skills.

The Summoner can become a Demon Summoner, and the Sorcerer can become a Wizard, then a Sorceress, and the Researcher can become a Magical Researcher, then a Spirit Hacker. The final original model for Eupha, the Royal Summoner, requires both a Soul Hacker and Devil Summoner.

Best Models for Basilio

  • Berserker
  • Warrior
  • Bravery

The final member of the group, Basilio, is extremely useful as the original model for the Berserker and should be used as a melee damage dealer, specifically melee damage. In addition to the Berserker, having the Warrior within reach could be beneficial for various physical skills, including slashing damage.

The Brawler is important for reaching Basilio’s final original model, as it can grant him additional melee damage skills, as well as useful negative skills like Diligent Disciple (increases critical strike rate) and Health Font (increases maximum health).

The Berserker will become a Destroyer, and the Warrior can become a Sword Master, then a Samurai, and the Brawler will become a Boxer, then a Martial Artist. By reaching the maximum level of the Destroyer and Martial Artist models, Basilio can unlock his final original model, the Royal Berserker.
