Spotify 2024 Wrapped Engages Musicians Once Again
Spotify 2024 Wrapped isn’t available yet – so don’t start searching for your phone just yet. But the biggest music streaming service in the world is preparing to provide statistics on what you listened to in 2024. It is working on involving artists themselves. (And yes, we’ll help you find your own Spotify cover completely.)
The “Get Ready for 2024 Wrapped” campaign, aptly named, includes a dedicated page on Spotify for artists, the gateway through which bands and musicians take their presence on Spotify into their own hands, build a fan base, and promote upcoming releases – which could be crucial for anyone not on Taylor Swift’s level for example.
As Spotify has become more than just a place to listen to music, it has also given options to artists. This is where the Get Ready for Wrapped program comes in. Music bands and musicians can create customized clips that will be featured in the 2024 Wrapped experiences for their top fans.
Yes, this is all important. Spotify says around 225 million listeners across 170 markets engaged with wrapped content in 2023, its ninth promotional year. It saw a 40% increase with wrapped content for 2023 compared to 2022. More than 40,000 artists thanked their fans with clips in 2023 and racked up nearly 725 million video views – half of which came from Gen Z users.
Spotify boasts having 626 million monthly active users as of July 2024, a 14% increase on a yearly basis. About a third are in Spotify’s Premium tier. An individual subscription to Spotify Premium costs $12 per month after a one-month trial period and includes 15 hours of monthly audiobooks. A Duo subscription for two accounts costs $17 per month. Spotify Family provides up to six Premium accounts – with parental features suitable for children – and 15 hours of audiobooks for $20 per month. Students can get an account for $6 per month, which also includes a subscription to Hulu.
