Speed levels for the game Astro Bot will be released weekly starting from next Thursday.
Speedrun levels will be released in the game Astro Bot weekly starting tomorrow, with levels available every Thursday at 4 PM Saudi time until November 14th.
The release schedule is as follows:
- October 17: Building Speed
- October 24: Let it Slide
- October 31: Spring-loaded Run
- November 7: Helium Heights
- November 14: Rising Heat
Each level features two new special robots to collect, with characters like Eve from Stellar Blade and characters from Helldivers already being promoted. All speedrun levels will be free, as Asobi’s team hinted that “more surprises may be coming soon” in a post on the PlayStation blog.
In a post on X/Twitter, Christopher Dring from GamesIndustry.biz highlighted the outstanding performance of the game, stating:
Astro Bot achieved better performance than almost all new 3D platform games in the past ten years (excluding Mario).
He also mentioned that the true success of the game may take years to fully emerge, but its initial impact is clear. Astro Bot’s success was particularly notable in Europe. Although it did not dominate physical sales at launch, its digital sales helped boost its overall performance.
The game sold 34% more than Sonic Frontiers and 52% more than Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, even surpassing Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which performed well, in the end Astro Bot outsold it by 7.5%.
