Sony prepares to withdraw PS Vita from markets following this surprising move.

I had been expecting this for a while, to the point where I got rid of my device over a year ago due to the lack of productions and the limited support for the PlayStation Vita. This became clear immediately after the successful launch of the home platform PlayStation 4.

Sony pulled the rug from under the Vita, making it a secondary concern for the company. The biggest indicator of this is the discontinuation of major game developments for it, with all focus shifted to the home platform PlayStation 4. This is well-deserved support as PlayStation 4 was highly successful in sales and commercially.

This delay did not stop Sony from halting production of the PlayStation Vita in several regions around the world. The latest being in Spain as seen through a tweet from PlayStation Spain confirming the official discontinuation of production in the country.

Following suit with several regions globally where production of the device was stopped discreetly, which was expected due to its low sales caused by the lack of new games and reliance on only a few major titles released in its first two years approximately. Best regards.
