Solution to the Chained Box Puzzle in Silent Hill 2
The chained box is the main puzzle in the “Otherworld” realm of the Brookhaven Hospital in the game Silent Hill 2. You need to solve two puzzles and find the Lapis Eye key to unlock the chained box and obtain elevator button -1, which leads you to the Trick or Treat questions and the rings needed to place on the “Lady of the Door” to finally leave Brookhaven Hospital.
To expedite matters, we have provided a solution to the chained box puzzle in Silent Hill 2 below, including the location of the Lapis Eye key and how to obtain the required symbols to unlock the box. However, if you prefer, you can simply enter the codes after finding the Lapis Eye key and skip this section of the hospital entirely. If this is your first time playing the game, we recommend obtaining the symbols yourself, as you will find some interesting documents about the hospital manager and patients during your journey.
Please note that this guide is intended for the remastered version of Silent Hill 2 on Standard and Hard difficulties, so the solutions may not be correct if you are playing the original version or selected the Light difficulty.
To solve the chained box puzzle in Silent Hill 2, follow these steps:

2. Obtain the digital lock code from room M2 on the second floor (2F).
