Save WhatsApp conversations in a text file in TXT format

Everyone is using WhatsApp to chat with friends either through their phones or even on WhatsApp Web. Despite the availability of various chat applications on phones and computers, WhatsApp remains popular among most users. Conversations sometimes hold sentimental value for people, and today we will discuss a unique way to easily backup your conversations in a text file using a little-known feature within WhatsApp. This allows you to revisit the text file at any time to read the entire conversation with ease. Let’s start reviewing the method.

Now, go to your WhatsApp and click on “Settings” within the app, then click on “Chats and Calls.”

Next, click on “Chat history,” then click on “Email Chat,” and select the conversation you want from the list.

Now, click on “without media or attach media” depending on whether you want to include media files like images or videos. Then click on Gmail, followed by clicking on the three horizontal dots at the top and choose “Save Draft” to save the draft to Gmail.

Now, access Gmail from your phone or computer, then go to “Drafts” and open the draft at the top. Click on “Download” for the text file within the email, containing the conversation in text format.

Using the method above, you can quickly and easily download all your conversations one by one and keep them for future reference. It also makes it easier to read them in full without waiting for the entire conversation to load online, which can be tiring. Additionally, if you need to find a specific phrase, you can easily search for it within the text file.
