Samsung officially announces Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition with larger screens, slimmer body, and a 200-megapixel camera.

Samsung announced today in South Korea the release of a new version of its foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which will be available only in China and South Korea for now. This version is called the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.

The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition comes with a larger screen than the regular version, both on the outside at 6.5 inches and on the inside at 8 inches. The phone is also 3 grams lighter and slimmer compared to the regular version, with a thickness of 4.9mm when open and 10.6mm when closed, while the regular version has a thickness of 5.6mm when open and 12.1mm when closed.

The cameras on the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition have been updated to include the same cameras as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, including a 200-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 3x optical zoom camera with a resolution of 10 megapixels, a 4-megapixel front camera under the internal screen, and a 10-megapixel front camera on the external screen.

The rest of the specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition are the same as the regular Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the phone will be available for sale in South Korea on October 25th with a starting price of $2036.
