Samsung Health App Receives 3 New Features

Samsung has launched three new features in the Samsung Health app aimed at improving user experience and monitoring more health standards. The updates include advanced features for tracking medications, direct access to health records, and improvements in meal logging.

Improving Medication Tracking

The new update for medication tracking, which was launched last year, allows users to use the camera to scan medications and track doses, schedules, and missed doses through a simple control panel.

Currently, this feature is available in India and South Korea. In the United States, Samsung provides medication alerts, while warnings about unsafe medications during pregnancy are provided in South Korea in collaboration with the Korean Pharmaceutical Information Center (KPIC).

Health Records

The new update offers the feature of accessing health records from clinics and hospitals, enhancing communication between users and healthcare providers.

The app partners with health platforms like athenahealth and Cerner to provide alerts on recommended tests and comprehensive health history.

Barcode Scanning

Users can now scan barcodes to record food details, such as calories and nutritional values, in collaboration with the FatSecret app.

This feature is available in the United States and some European countries, with plans to expand its reach in the future.

The new features require devices running Android 10 or higher, and the Samsung Health app version 6.28 or later.
