iRobot has unveiled a new generation of its smart electric vacuum cleaners, just six months after launching its first budget-friendly series. The new Roomba Combo 2 Essential model comes at a price of $425 with integrated sweeping and mopping capabilities, while the Roomba Vac 2 Essential model offers sweeping function only at a price of $400, with double the suction power in both models compared to the previous generation.
The new vacuums feature a smart charging base that automatically empties its contents into sealed, sanitized bags, capable of holding two full months’ worth of debris. They also include four suction levels, a multi-surface main brush, and a side brush for efficient corner cleaning.
The Combo 2 model excels in its ability to control water quantity across three levels during mopping, making it an ideal choice for homes with hard floors.
The new vacuums move in a regular linear pattern to ensure comprehensive coverage of the home space, despite lacking the advanced lidar technology available in higher-priced models.
