Resident Evil 9 Appears on Metacritic for Reviews
While rumors about the development of Resident Evil 9 are circulating, today the official page of the game on the Metacritic platform dedicated to monitoring video game ratings unexpectedly appeared.
This could be a strong indication that the game will indeed be the next project by Capcom to be released as part of the main series.
The latest rumors that have surfaced were through the 4Chan forum, which often does not have accurate or truthful information, so we discuss these rumors with a strong warning not to take them too seriously.
According to these unverified rumors, the game, which will be called Extinction, will take place on an island called “Tierra del Fuego” located in Southeast Asia. The main inspiration for this island is the volcanic Japanese island of “Miyake-Jima,” which has a volcano emitting toxic gas, prompting all its residents to wear masks for protection.
The design of the village and small town is a mix of cultural symbols from all eleven Southeast Asian countries. The main biological threat will be the “White Mold,” inspired by the real mold fungus “Torobella.”
The well-known series leaker Dusk Golem recently spoke about the remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica and the remake of Resident Evil 0, saying on his Discord channel that these remake versions are the only projects currently under development at Capcom. He confirmed that these specific remakes have been chosen for several reasons, most likely one of them being the importance of these games to players.
With all these leaks and rumors, fans of the series are eagerly awaiting an official announcement from Capcom. Whether it’s for Resident Evil 9 or the reissue of Resident Evil Code Veronica, either of them would be welcomed without a doubt.
