Report: Sony Halts Production of God of War TV Series and Will Restart Production from Scratch.

In January of last year, we learned that Amazon’s God of War series is still in the writing phase. Nine months later, the series is still in the same phase but with a different approach. Sony has decided to cancel all previous scripts for the project and start over with a new direction.

According to Deadline, executive producer Raff Judkins, executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus submitted several scripts for the God of War series before leaving the project. While sources informed Deadline that both Sony Pictures TV and Amazon MGM Studios were pleased with the scripts submitted, they are looking to take the series in a new creative direction.

A new executive producer has not been announced yet, and new writers are being considered to work on a completely new script. In case you didn’t know, Raff Judkins is the same person who wrote the script for another video game-based project, the movie “Uncharted” starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg.

Similar to the events of the 2018 game release, the series will focus on Kratos as he travels with his son to the highest peak in the nine realms to fulfill his late wife’s final request. Whether this plot will also change with the new script or remain the same is unknown, but either way, it seems that the realistic artwork will take years before being extensively revealed.
