Report: Rayman Remake Currently in Development by Prince of Persia Team
A rumor surfaced yesterday revealing that the team behind the game Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has been disbanded; however, shortly after, Ubisoft confirmed the report but disclosed that the team is still intact and has been shifted to work on different projects, with the latest rumor suggesting a remake of the long-lost Rayman game as one of these projects.
The team has not been laid off, which is reassuring, considering The Lost Crown was actually a great game, and Ubisoft stated that the team is now working on various projects, as indicated by a reliable source, with the team reportedly working on Rayman Remake, Beyond Good and Evil 2, and the next main game in the Ghost Recon series.
A knowledgeable source reveals that most developers have transitioned to three different projects, with the most exciting discovery being the reimagining of the Rayman game, as it is one of the oldest and most famous video game franchises.
Although the new version is in development, it was an unwanted project among developers, like Beyond Good and Evil 2. The report also reveals that many developers working on Beyond Good and Evil 2 feel confused about Ubisoft’s lavish spending on the project, with little likelihood of it being profitable.
