Reborn: New Satanic Topics

We are still waiting to see when Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is ready to sneak from the shadows to the lights of Disney+ with the arrival of one of the most anticipated new Marvel shows, Daredevil: Born Again. But Marvel Studios moved to the stage at New York Comic Con today to give us a glimpse of what Matt (and company) will look like when they are ready to do so.
To kick off the first day of the Marvel New York Comic Con booth, allow fans to get up close and personal with the latest iteration of the Daredevil suit to be seen in Born Again, alongside one of Wilson Fisk’s own suits (certainly more luxurious, if slightly less intimidating).
New York Comic Con 2024: Daredevil: Born Again Bold Suit
Returning to the red and black color palette after Matt’s brief appearance in She-Hulk gave us a classic look with yellow accents on the suit, and this design, of course, strongly reminds us of the design we saw throughout the Netflix Daredevil series. It can be said that the important point, considering part of the reason we’ve been waiting so long for this show is that Marvel had to return to the drawing board that set the example and retool it to rely more on the tone and style created in the Netflix’s iteration of Daredevil.
New York Comic Con 2024: Daredevil: Born Again Wilson Fisk Suit
Alongside the new threads for Matt, one of Wilson Fisk’s many shiny suits was also on display, albeit less thrilling. It certainly looks like one of many choices from the luxurious threads Wilson can pull from his giant wardrobe! Perhaps the most interesting details about the Fisk suit are the badges on the lapel of the jacket: a small American flag and a red apple representing the city of New York.
There were some Easter eggs peppered throughout Kingpin’s comic history where he avoids the legal ramifications of his criminal activities by running for office, and we know this is something the MCU unit is also working towards. A post-credits scene for Echo showed Fisk listening to a news program discussing the upcoming mayoral elections in New York City and the lack of a strong candidate, prompting his inevitable invasion of the race. The science and apple pin may not tell us much, but showing Fisk’s hint of nationalism falls outside his usual stylistic choices, so it definitely seems like a nod to politics.
We’ll have to wait and see how ambitious Fisk’s political journey will become and when Daredevil: Born Again finally arrives on Disney + sometime next year.
