Ready to Dive into Strange New Worlds in season 3

Influenced by the Hollywood strikes last year, when Paramount headed to San Diego earlier this year to give Comic-Con a first look at Strange New Worlds in the third season, things were… strange. Instead of a trailer, fans were treated to a scene from an episode of the new season, which raised some questions (and some Vulcan ears) that angered hardcore fans who would have otherwise been excited. Strange New Worlds was cooked in the Star Trek past. Now at New York Comic Con, the show has become a much better place to tease what’s to come.

When we last left the Project ship crew at the end of the second season, things looked less strange and new for sure, as the ship veered off course from a group of Jorn who had invaded a Federation colony world, that had already taken a number of ships on board the American ship. Kaiyoga, the ship led by Pike’s lover, Mary Patil (Wynonna Earp Melanie Scrofano). This dark turn of the show was literally just finished a musical episode, but at least it seems that most of our heroes (and some familiar new and old heroes, like young Montgomery Scott played by Martin Quinn) will come out of this scary encounter in one piece for this new adventure.

The Strange New Worlds clip was shown at NYCC Star Trek captures a Universe painting of the final events right after the end of the second season: The Project gets hit by Jorn, Pike is a little shocked by all the chaos. With everything going on, the crew strives to stay alive and find a way to ensure they are able to save their missing friends.

Away from the rescue mission, Paramount was shy about other adventures Project finds the crew inside. But they will meet at least one new face, like Reese Darby (What We Do in the Shadows) will be a guest star at some point during the season. When will Star Trek: Strange New Worlds return? Paramount was cryptic, except that it will be back at some point in 2025.
