Qualcomm officially announces Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with 45% better performance
Qualcomm officially announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, an octa-core processor with a 3nm manufacturing process. The chip is manufactured by TSMC and features Oryon cores, with two for heavy tasks running at 4.32GHz and six for lighter tasks running at 3.53GHz.
Qualcomm stated that the processor is 45% better than the previous generation and consumes 44% less power. The Adreno GPU is also 40% better than the previous generation and consumes 44% less power, while also improving ray tracing performance by 45%.
Additionally, the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor excels in artificial intelligence tasks by 45% compared to the previous generation. Image processing has also been improved, and the processor comes with the Snapdragon X80 5G modem for fifth-generation connectivity.
