PlayStation community celebrates the 15th anniversary of the game Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

When the Uncharted series first appeared in 2007, the first game offered an unprecedented experience for adventure game enthusiasts in third-person perspective. However, with the release of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the series succeeded in grabbing attention and putting Naughty Dog studio on the map as one of the best first-party studios under Sony.
The game provided an unparalleled experience that bridged the gap between cinematic entertainment and video games, both in terms of deep storylines, immersive gameplay mechanics, and amazing events that allowed the Naughty Dog development team to break the barrier between cinematic presentations and actual player control.
Until 2015, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves had sold over 5.5 million copies, a significant number at that time that none of the other PlayStation titles had achieved.
Renowned journalist Geoff Keighley shared a post on the X platform commemorating the 15th anniversary of the game’s release, which was revealed during The Game Awards 2008 event. This post triggered many memories that followers began sharing in responses.
It might be hard to believe, but it has been 15 years since the release of this magnificent masterpiece that changed our perspective on video games and caused quite a stir at the time. Its impact continues to be felt even after all this time.
One of those who interacted with Keighley’s post was director and writer Amy Hennig, who directed the first two parts. She commented, “I can’t believe it’s been 15 years! So proud of what we accomplished with this game – wonderful memories.”
Uncharted 2 – released 15 years today.
Still remember Busta Rhymes announcing this at VGA 2008.

As players, perhaps the best thing we could wish for on this wonderful anniversary is to get a new installment that continues the journey with the same creativity that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves brought to the series at that time.
It cannot be confirmed or denied whether Sony has abandoned the series. There is still great hope among fans of the cheerful hero “Nathan Drake” that he will return one day, or perhaps the series will return with new stories and heroes after Drake’s retirement.
