PlayStation 5 Consoles Currently Being Sold for $1700 in This Region of the World..!
It’s been over a year since the release of the current generation of home gaming consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, yet eager gamers awaiting these anticipated devices have encountered various challenges along the way.
Firstly, the global pandemic crisis of COVID-19 exacerbated the situation, especially in certain regions where acquiring these devices at a reasonable price was already difficult for several reasons. However, with the current crisis and the shortage of shipments due to a lack of supply of crucial semiconductor components for mass production, the situation has worsened.
Obtaining the devices, particularly the PlayStation 5 from Sony, has become increasingly difficult. However, this time, details lead us to a country in South America, specifically in Argentina in the city of Buenos Aires and its international airport, which was shared through a tweet on Twitter.
One user shared photos of how the PlayStation 5 console, though missing in regions around the world like Europe, the United States, and Canada, is abundantly available at the international airport in Buenos Aires. The shocking part is that the console is available for $1700, which is double the official price, over three times more expensive.
In a move that was expected, especially in markets like Brazil and Argentina where electronic devices are indeed available but at extremely high prices compared to global markets, the price of the PlayStation 5 console here breaks all barriers at $1700. We do not know if this is an official price from the local Sony PlayStation sector or if it is due to speculations.
This price is expected due to the console being in very limited quantities, and therefore the available units are sold at three times the price to attempt to profit. It is unlikely that buyers will pay such an exorbitant fee, even though there are currently sellers offering the console for $1000 and $900 in several specific countries, and Sony’s recent statements have confirmed that the crisis will continue at least until the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023.
