Players complain about DualSense controller drifting issue on PS5

Over the past few years, controller drifting has been a common issue with gaming consoles, especially with the initial releases. This strange problem, known as Drift, has been previously reported on Xbox and PlayStation 4 controllers, and more recently on the Nintendo Switch controller.

Personally, I have experienced this issue multiple times with my current PlayStation 4 controller until I upgraded to the newer version of the Dualshock 4 controller, which fixed the problem. Drift causes the controller to move within games unexpectedly without any input.

As seen in videos from games like Call of Duty Warzone and Destiny 2 shared by users on Reddit, players on the new PlayStation 5 console have reported that the DualSense controller also suffers from this issue, which is not common.

This problem may occur with excessive use, dropping the controller from a height onto the L or R buttons, or applying pressure to the L3 or R3 buttons. This issue has not been reported on the Xbox Series X console yet and seems to be specific to the PlayStation 5 at the moment.

Despite advancements in technology, it is concerning that such issues still persist with a modern console like the PlayStation 5 and its DualSense controller. These problems should not be present in a device that is supposed to enhance the gaming experience. However, it is important to address and rectify these issues for a smoother gaming experience.

Greetings.

Just noticed my Dualsense drifts 🙁 from r/PS5
