Our First Experience with Microsoft’s Spartan Browser
To be clear to everyone, personally, I am mainly waiting for the final version of Vivaldi browser, but on the other hand, I cannot ignore that Microsoft’s new Spartan browser might have something special worth trying, especially after Microsoft announced its intention to release Windows 10 for free for everyone, which definitely means that the company’s policies have completely changed and shifted towards another direction. Therefore, I have updated my Windows 10 version and I will now try the browser for the first time and tell you clearly about my experience and opinion.
Spartan browser comes in Windows 10 as a Metro app with a completely simple and distinctive user interface. The windows in the address bar save a lot of space in the browser interface.
There are settings that allow changing the font size in the browser, enabling the favorites bar, changing the default search engine, the size of pop-up windows, enabling and disabling Cortana, and many other options available in the browser settings. But they are not numerous so far.
There is also a reading mode option where web pages are displayed in a better reading format free of elements and comfortable for the eyes in various ways. There is also a feature to add notes while browsing and also to highlight text directly on the browser.
Let me tell you, after using the browser in general, I was not impressed for sure and I do not know if Microsoft plans to develop it further or if it will remain in this state. But it definitely needs a lot of improvements, and the reasons that push me to switch to a browser like Firefox, which is outstanding, before using Spartan. The browser does not offer any new features and overall is less than the beta level and does not offer anything new. Perhaps the opinion is harsh, and the browser is still in its early stages, but what I saw did not impress me!
