Oppo launches Find X8 phones with advanced camera features
Oppo has announced its new flagship phones from the Find X8 series, which are considered the company’s best phones in 2024, competing with all high-performance phones from other companies.
The Find X8 phone comes with a flat 6.59-inch screen, with a resolution of +FHD LTPO OLED type that adjusts the refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz based on the displayed content.
As for the Find X8 Pro phone, it offers a slightly larger curved screen measuring 6.78 inches on all four sides.
Both screens have a maximum brightness of 1600 nits and 4500 nits when playing HDR content, and they feature a punch-hole front camera with 32MP resolution and a fingerprint scanner.
The Find X8 series boasts an advanced camera system with a circular design called “Cosmos Ring,” which is significantly smaller compared to the previous “Find X7” versions.
The Find X8 series includes a main camera with a 50MP resolution using a Sony LYT-700 sensor with a size of 1/1.56 inches, supporting Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It also has a wide-field camera with 50MP resolution and autofocus feature. The third camera is a 3x zoom “periscope” lens with a Sony IMX882 sensor and optical stabilization.
The Find X8 Pro phone also features a second 50MP “periscope” zoom camera that enables up to 6x optical zoom, with the main camera using an LYT-808 sensor.
Oppo equips both phones with the HyperTone image engine that combines up to 9 frames in each image for high clarity and ultra-high precision with wide dynamic range, reducing noise and optical distortions. It also offers the Hasselblad Portrait mode for portrait photography, along with the new LivePhoto feature that captures short videos before and after taking a picture.
In the Find X8 Pro phone, Oppo has also added a dedicated camera button called “Quick Button,” which allows launching the camera app with a double click, enabling photo capture, zoom in and out during image capture, similar to the “Camera Control” button on iPhone 16.
The Find X8 series is the first Oppo phones to come equipped with the high-performance Dimensity 9400 processor from Mediatek, supported by a new cooling system that includes a layer of graphite, steam chamber, and a heat gel directly on the motherboard.
Both phones run on the ColorOS 15 system based on Android 15, recently announced by the company, providing multiple AI-based features with a redesigned interface.
The Find X8 phone comes with a 5600mAh battery capacity, while the Find X8 Pro phone has a larger 5900mAh battery capacity. Both phones support wired charging at 80W and wireless charging at 50W, and they are both resistant to water and dust with an IP69 rating.
The Find X8 phone is available in several colors in China, including black, white, blue, and pink, starting from $600. The Find X8 Pro phone comes in three colors, black, white, and blue, starting from $750.
The phones are expected to be available outside China later, and Oppo is expected to launch an Ultra version of the series in the first quarter of 2025.
