Oppo continues to strengthen its position in the technology market by developing a new smart ring, according to a recent patent published on the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) website.
This patent comes with designs and drawings illustrating the features of this smart ring, which features a detachable part. This new design aims to make the device thinner and more comfortable compared to the smart rings currently available in the market. Oppo seems to have adopted an innovative approach, with the detachable part housing the electronic components, allowing for greater flexibility in usage and easily changing the shape and functions of the ring to meet the diverse needs of users.
This new approach may enable users to customize the appearance of the ring and choose new functions, making it suitable for different preferences and providing a more versatile personal experience.
Although the patent hints at a unique innovation, Oppo has not yet confirmed whether they will release this product in the market. It is worth mentioning that other companies have entered the race in the field of smart rings, such as Samsung, which launched their smart ring Galaxy Ring, and Oura, which introduced the fourth generation of Oura Ring. In contrast, Apple decided to halt their own smart ring project to avoid competing with their smartwatch sales.
While details about Oppo’s project are still uncertain, expectations suggest the possibility of this smart ring being released in 2025.
