No Plans to Make Any Expansions to Spider-Man 2 Story
The massive hack of Insomniac Games in December revealed some of the studio’s future projects, including details of post-launch support for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. However, such plans are currently not in place according to the developer’s statements.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was recently announced for PC, and in a PlayStation blog post that announced it, Insomniac Games revealed that there are no plans to add new story content to the game. However, they stated that all previously released updates for the game will be included in the PC release, with the developer continuing:
While we don’t have plans to add additional story content to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we are excited to bring all previously released post-launch content to the PC version.
According to the mentioned leak, Insomniac’s alleged post-launch plans for the game included three free updates throughout 2024, as well as a re-release of the Game of the Year Edition. No one knows when those plans were abandoned, whether due to the leaks themselves or if the studio decided to focus on other projects.
Finally, Insomniac confirmed that the paid Fit N’ Fresh Suit Pack they released for the game on PS5 earlier this year in collaboration with Gameheads will also be available to all players for free in October as previously promised.
It is worth noting that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to PC on January 30, 2025.
