New leaks about iPhone 17 Air: A19 processor and 8GB RAM

Recent reports suggest that the iPhone 17 Air – or iPhone Slim according to some sources – may replace the Plus model in the upcoming iPhone lineup. While previous leaks indicated that this device would be lower in performance and higher in cost, analyst Jeff Pu revealed specific specifications.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be unveiled at next year’s iPhone launch event, featuring a new design and a 6.6-inch screen. The phone will include the A19 chip, manufactured using the same technology as the A18 chip, which enhances its performance.

It will also have 8GB of RAM, a 24-megapixel front camera, and a single 48-megapixel main rear camera lens. It is noteworthy that Apple is considering using only one rear camera instead of two, which may seem unusual to some.

The analyst expects Apple to offer improvements in design and external covers for all iPhone 17 models, but the A19 Pro chip, larger RAM, and the revamped “Dynamic Island” feature will remain exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro models.

He also mentioned that Apple may upgrade all cameras of the iPhone Pro models to 48-megapixel resolution, as well as improve the front camera to 24-megapixel resolution. The regular model of the iPhone 17 will retain a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera.

Although the iPhone 17 launch event is about a year away, many things can change during this period, including the plans for the iPhone 17 Air/Slim device.

There are rumors that the slim design may be achieved through a new screen technology expected to be available next year, along with improvements in battery life and software developments to achieve this distinctive look.
