My Experience with USB 3.1 External Hard Drive Speed and Why I Bought It

Initially, purchasing an external hard drive is important for various reasons, which I will cover in future topics. I wanted to consolidate my movie collection onto a dedicated hard drive, as well as free up space on my NVMe drive. I wanted a fast hard drive, so I opted for the USB 3.1 technology for maximum read and write speeds.
To measure the hard drive’s speed, I used CrystalDiskMark as usual. The write speed to the device was 133 MB/s, and the read speed was 133 MB/s as well, which is excellent compared to other drives.
There are many alternatives from companies like Toshiba and Seagate, but I chose this drive because of its USB 3 technology and the higher speed it offers for file transfers. Silicon Power was the only brand available with this technology, so I made the purchase immediately for testing and sharing my experience.
One of the main reasons I bought the external hard drive was to create a media sharing server at home. This way, anyone in the household can access or transfer files without the need for individual transfers. They can simply access the server and get the files they need!
In conclusion, buying an external hard drive with a large storage capacity is essential. What drive you choose depends on your budget. Research and look for real user reviews detailing the read and write speeds of the drives you are interested in. You can also check ratings on Amazon for more information.
