Motorola unveils phones set to receive Android 15

Motorola has revealed the list of its devices that will receive the Android 15 system as part of its upcoming updates, which includes a large number of its phones.

The list includes a wide range of Motorola phones, from the Edge and Razr series to various versions of Moto G.

As for the phones listed in the Edge series, the update will be available for Edge Plus 2023, Edge 2024, Edge 40 Pro, Edge 50, Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Neo, Edge 50 Pro, and Edge 50 Ultra.

Regarding the Moto G series, the update will be available for Moto G Power 5G 2024, Moto G 5G 2024, Moto G Stylus 5G 2024, Moto G34 5G, Moto G35, Moto G45, Moto G55, Moto G75, and Moto G85.

The company also intends to provide the update for the Motorola Razr series, including the phones Motorola Razr 2023 (Razr 40), Motorola Razr Plus 2023 (Razr 40 Ultra), Motorola Razr 2024 (Razr 50), Motorola Razr Plus 2024 (Razr 50 Ultra), as well as the ThinkPhone and ThinkPhone 25 phones.

While the list seems long, there are many phones that are not included, such as the full Moto G 2023 series, Motorola Edge 2023, and Moto G phones released in 2022.

Motorola has recently made efforts to improve its update policy, announcing its intention to provide updates to the Android operating system along with security updates for its devices for a period of five years, starting with the mid-range devices Edge 50 Neo and ThinkPhone 25, but the company still needs to improve support for budget devices like the Moto G series, which usually only receive one major update.

In contrast, competing companies like Samsung provide longer support for their new phones. The company recently announced the Galaxy A16, promising to provide major and security updates for it for a period of 6 years, while previous versions of the Korean company’s budget series receive 4 major Android updates and 5 years of security updates.
