Reports indicate that Mira Murati, the former Chief Technology Officer of OpenAI, is seeking funding for a new startup in the field of artificial intelligence. According to sources from Reuters, the funding could exceed $100 million.
The new company aims to develop artificial intelligence products based on proprietary models, indicating Murati’s desire to make a significant impact in this field.
When announcing her departure from OpenAI on Ex platform, Murati explained that the company has changed the way artificial intelligence systems solve complex problems. She added that she wants to explore her ideas away from the company.
Murati joined OpenAI in 2018 after working at Tesla and Leap Motion, and was promoted to the position of Chief Technology Officer in 2022. She even briefly served as interim CEO.
It is worth noting that several other executives at OpenAI have recently left the company, while the company announced raising $6.6 billion in one of its largest funding rounds in history.
