Microsoft enhances Copilot capabilities with artificial intelligence to transform business practices
Microsoft has announced the addition of new capabilities to boost business operations through enhancing its intelligent assistant “Copilot” in the Microsoft 365 package. This is achieved by launching advanced artificial intelligence agents aimed at improving business processes and providing high productivity levels.
Among these enhancements, Microsoft has introduced the Copilot Studio platform, which enables the creation of customized artificial intelligence agents. It is expected to be available for public preview next month. These agents can perform a wide range of tasks within businesses, making operations more independent and intelligent.
Microsoft has also introduced 10 new artificial intelligence agents within the Dynamics 365 platform to support sales, services, finance, and supply chain departments. These agents leverage data from Microsoft 365 Graph and other data management systems like Dataverse and Fabric, enhancing their capabilities to independently handle complex operations.
Copilot allows each company to create agents that accelerate processes such as lead generation and supply chain management automation, making this technology a powerful tool for achieving faster and more accurate results in business.
Among these agents, there is a Sales Qualification agent that helps teams focus on the most important sales opportunities by conducting detailed research on potential customers and providing personalized communication recommendations. There is also a Supply Chain Management agent that monitors supplier performance and addresses any delays, allowing the procurement team to focus on strategic aspects.
For customer service teams, Microsoft has introduced a Customer Relationship Improvement agent, designed to support independent handling of customer inquiries and expand best practices through creating knowledge articles.
Microsoft ensures the security of these agents through strict security and privacy standards, implementing protection measures like strong authentication protocols, ensuring a secure environment for running these agents in the business setting.
Microsoft noted that over 60% of companies in the “Fortune 500” list rely on Microsoft 365 Copilot services to improve their productivity. For example, Lumen Technologies expects to save $50 million annually through the use of these technologies, while Honeywell stated that productivity improvements are equivalent to adding 187 full-time employees.
