Merge videos into one video on Samsung phones without using any applications
For years, video design and editing, even the simplest edits like adding text to the video, were limited to computers that required high specifications not available in phones at that time. But today, phones have become powerful enough to create videos from scratch with high resolution up to 4K and make advanced edits without prior knowledge of editing or the need for a computer. Even merging multiple videos into one video can be done through a phone without installing any external apps if you are using a Samsung device. Let’s see how to do that in the following lines.
Samsung phones have many features to explore, and discovering all of them takes a long time. The default Samsung Gallery app for media viewing alone has many features that sometimes eliminate the need for external apps. For example, the app allows you to create a video from photos, remove text from photos, enlarge images without affecting their quality, and even remove shadows from images. If you want to merge multiple videos on your phone into one video for a unique presentation on social media, here’s how you can do it using the “Studio” app on Samsung phones.
Merge multiple videos together through the Gallery app
First, open the “Studio” Gallery app and select all the videos you want to merge into one clip. To do this, press and hold on the first video to select it, then tap once on all the other videos to select them all. Then press the more button (⁝) in the lower corner of the screen and choose “Create” to bring up a new menu where you select “Movie.” Note that the app also allows you to merge photos and turn them into a GIF or compile multiple photos in a unique way into one image.
After selecting “Movie,” the “Studio” app will immediately merge the selected videos into one video where you can press play to preview it. Now you can add transitions, texts, and more. If you want to add another video, click on the plus sign (+) and select the desired video clips to merge with the new video. Or to change the order of the added videos, press and hold on one of the clips in the preview at the bottom and drag it to another place.
You can edit the transition effect that appears when moving from one video to another by clicking on the “Transition” icon between the clips. A pop-up window will appear where you can choose from 4 different transition effects. If you want to apply various effects, uncheck the “All” option.
The app also allows you to add text to the video or to a specific clip within it. From the same editing window, go to the “Subtitle” section on the bottom toolbar, then click the add text button, which will display the keyboard where you can write the title and description to be displayed during video playback. There are several available styles at the bottom that you can choose from according to your preference. Unfortunately, you cannot customize the text color, font, or even the duration of its display in the video.
If the video has no sound, adding background music enhances the viewing experience. Therefore, the “Studio” app also allows you to add background music. In the editing interface, go to the “Music” section at the bottom, then click on the “Add” button. A menu will open with a selection of ready-to-use soundtracks, you can choose from them or click on the plus sign (+) to select another music file from your phone memory. Then you can control the volume of the background music and the overall video sound level.
Finally, you can change the video dimensions in the “Aspect Ratio” section, where you can change the dimensions according to the aspect ratio of width to height from the pre-set options or specify specific dimensions manually. You can also zoom in and out of the video if desired.
After merging the videos and editing the final video, all that’s left is to save this video on your phone. Just click on the “Save” button at the top and wait a little for the clips to be merged. The process usually takes a lot of time if there are many high-resolution videos to merge, in this case, the process may take up to 15 minutes to complete. In the end, you will find the saved video in a new album within the Samsung Gallery app where you can watch, edit, and share it as usual.
