Major updates from Apple: Big artificial intelligence features coming with iOS 18.2
Apple has announced the release of new beta updates for developers, including beta versions of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2 for iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices respectively.
According to the observations in those updates, Apple will introduce new features as part of its Apple Intelligence AI features, such as the Photo Generation feature, Emojis, integration of ChatGPT, and other new features and changes.
One of the key features in the new update is the Genmoji Emoji Generation feature, which allows users to create custom emojis directly from the keyboard.
Users can access this feature by tapping on the Genmoji button in the emoji keyboard and entering the desired description to create the emoji.
The system will display multiple options to choose from, and these emojis can be used as quick responses in messages. Users can also create custom emojis based on friends’ photos and photos stored on the phone.
Apple also introduced an API for the Genmoji feature, allowing third-party messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and others to display these emojis.
Apple also offers the Image Playground feature in its new updates, accessible from the Messages app, allowing users to create images based on conversations, text descriptions, or photos from the gallery using artistic styles such as animations and illustrations, but not realistic images of people at the moment.
In addition, Apple provides the Image Wand feature in its Smart Pencil tools update, helping to turn simple drawings into more accurate artwork.
Apple integrated the intelligent ChatGPT robot into its Siri assistant and smart writing tools.
When a user asks Siri to create a travel plan or training program, the personal assistant may suggest using ChatGPT to complete these tasks. Users can allow the system to use ChatGPT frequently or as needed, as it is an optional rather than mandatory choice.
It is worth mentioning that using ChatGPT does not require a special account, as Apple has entered into an agreement with OpenAI to ensure that users’ personal data is not stored or used for training models. If users link their ChatGPT account, OpenAI’s privacy policies will apply.
In addition to integrating ChatGPT, Apple provides new writing tools that allow options such as rewriting, summarizing, and language checks.
For iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro users, they will be able to experience the Visual Intelligence feature, which allows the use of the camera to get answers to math problems or information about the elements in the surrounding environment through online search, similar to Google Lens’ visual search feature.
It is worth noting that all these new features will be available for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, Mac computers, and iPad devices with Apple M-class Silicon processors.
